Long-lasting Natural Shock Absorber:
Humans are born with natural shock absorbers for our teeth called; periodontal ligaments. This is important because there are very few things as impactful to the body as chewing. When a person loses their teeth or has them removed, we lose that natural shock absorber.
Up until now, dentists and specialists have only had two options to utilize during restoration: Acrylic/Hybrid and Zirconia (or some form of Porcelain). The challenge with both of the solutions is the fact that neither one gives patients a lasting replacement for their natural shock absorber. Transfer of chewing forces, in the case of natural teeth, were naturally compensated for with the periodontal ligaments. However, fixed osseointegrated implants (integrated into the bone) do not provide this necessary effect. Without a shock absorber, these forces act on the implants and the bone in a very unforgiving way. That’s why older ceramic implant restorations tend to chip, crack or break under pressure after just a few years in the mouth. Similarly, this is why some are concerned that Zirconia might be less-than-forgiving if supported by implants. With XircOn® Ultra, the material takes the pressure and abuse that chewing causes and doesn’t pass the impact to the bone. In addition, it offers a gentle bite and feels while being kind to the opposing teeth, unlike traditional ceramics.
The Science of Flex:
At 10,000 MPa modulus of elasticity, XircOn® Ultra is by far the most flexible dental ceramic in use today. At 480 MPa compressive strength (which simulates chewing forces in the mouth), XircOn® Ultra is one of the most durable esthetic dental materials available.
Nano-hybrid ceramics are the only dental ceramics which are as flexible as both the dentin and enamel while providing strength characteristics that are significantly superior to both. Ultra-flexes and will not break! XircOn® Ultra is made with a perfect 70/30 blend of silanated ceramics and advanced polymers. The 30% polymer matrix gives the material its elasticity, and silanizing causes the ceramic to bond chemically to the polymers giving the restoration its strength.
If that sounds complicated, think of it as a proprietary process that uses the right materials with the right bonding techniques to give a lasting solution for dental restorations. This unique chemical bond that formed inside the XircOn® Ultra material matrix allows the polymers to flex while not breaking apart from the ceramics which makes it ideal for dental restorations, particularly implants, and bruxers (night grinding), which need to flex or respond to stress.
XircOn® Ultra Full Arch
The All-on-4-6 technique provides patients with a non-removable dental arch that is secured by as few as four dental implants – all on the same day. All-on-4-6 is the perfect option for patients who have or need dentures or need complete restorations on the upper or lower teeth. Most providers only offer two options, Acrylic (Hybrid) and Zirconia. This is a third option which is better than both Acrylic and Zirconia!
XircOn® Ultra is one of the most anticipated dental science advances in the past decade. The closest material to human teeth, it looks and feels more natural than any other product on the market, including acrylic and zirconia. This technology has been perfected in Europe for the last 15 years. XircOn® Ultra is a premier solution to restore the full arches of the upper and lower jaws. When this is combined with the latest state of the art technology XircOn® Ultra has overcome the challenges of all the other brands of All- on-4-6 in the market.
The solution starts by using top grade implants, then it is combined with the highest grade of restorative materials found in the world, XircOn® Ultra. XircOn® Ultra has been used in more than a million restorations worldwide and the material has been approved by the FDA.
XircOn® Ultra Implant Supported Bridges
When several teeth in a row are missing, they can be replaced by a bridge anchored to implants. An implant is not needed for each tooth being replaced. Three or four teeth can be replaced with just two dental implants for support. This is less expensive than placing an individual implant for each tooth being replaced.
There are several clear benefits in choosing an implant-supported bridge over more traditional ways of replacing missing teeth. Instead of supporting the bridge with natural teeth, the bridge is supported by dental implants, allowing patients to enjoy all the benefits of having a healthy and fully restored smile and teeth that are stable and strong. This means that natural teeth can remain fully intact as they will not need to be shaped for crowns. If, or when, there’s a need to replace the implant bridge, potentially fewer teeth will be involved than opting for a traditional bridge, which helps to reduce the cost.
Dental implants protect the jawbone against bone loss, as artificially replacing the tooth root will provide stimulation to the jaw, ensuring old bone cells are continually renewed. An implant-supported bridge will fully restore a smile, providing the perfect amount of support for cheeks and lips and restoring facial dimensions.
